Just made $300 from opening a credit card

I got an offer in the mail for opening a Chase credit card and it said they would give you $300. I was very leery of this. I even called before opening it to make sure I would actually get it and they said yes after 6-8 weeks after my first purchase. Plus the bonus was that it was a 0% interest card. We use these when we get behind in our money so that we don't rack up any interest. We always pay all our credit cards off each month so that we don't accrue interest and we are careful not to overextend ourselves. But with me being on maternity leave and taking a major pay cut to babysit, we have fallen a little behind. When this happens we open a 0% interest card and put our purchases on there. We decide how long we are going to purchase on this card and then when we are done I take the amount we have and divide it by the number of months that we have the 0% interest. Then by the time it starts making interest we have it paid off. This has always worked for us because we know in the months that we have this type of account "open" we have to really watch our money. So I got an offer in the mail for a Chase Freedom card and it said that they would give you $300 just for opening the account and make one purchase. We really couldn't pass this up, so I did it, still a little anxious about opening another credit card, but decided that $300 was what we needed more than a great credit score (although I'm not sure how much that is even affected by opening a credit card account). Today I just got our first bill and there was 30,000 reward points sitting there at the top of our statement. I logged onto my account and just put in to receive my $300 check. Awesome!!!
